To be controlled by anger is to repress the soul's original qualities of tolerance and love. Anger is an intense emotional response typically triggered by a perceived wrong, injustice, or frustration. This emotion emerges when we do not get what we desired. So 'desire' of anything is the root cause. Suggested Link ➔ "Overcome Anger Forever" Please SHARE this page link

  • Spiritual Significance of Maha Shivratri | Brahma Kumaris

True Significance of MahaShivratri or Shiv Jayanti festival. What does it represent and the meaning behind it. When and how God Shiva appears is explained with videos to watch. (Shiv Avtaran, incarnation of God) Maha Shivratri About GOD SHARE Spiritual Significance Maha literally means Great, Ratri is night, and Jayanti means 'born date/time'. The word “Shiva" or "Shiv" has a Sanskrit origin, which translates to "benefactor". Therefore, “Shivaratri” implies that the incorporeal God (Shiva) incarnates in our world at such a time when the night of utter darkness prevails. The word “ratri” here does not recognize the darkness that falls after sunset, rather, it signifies the darkness of extreme ignorance (lack of spiritual knowledge ) and unrighteousness in the world. Shiv-ratri or Shiv Jayanti has been celebrated in Bharat (ancient India) since the copper age. Tip : You may also listen to this article . Also read Shivratri poems (PDF⇗) Why is it 'R atr i'? Ratri is associated with Shiva because he incarnates at a time during the world cycle when it is a nig ht of total darkness or ignorance of the self, and of the supreme soul, the father. When we human souls become impure under the influence of 5 vices (lust, anger, greed, ego, material attachment), and when the true religion of purity and peace and the spiritual self-identity is forgotten, he comes to restore humanity in its highest stage, which is the original religion of deities (Devi-devta Dharma , as we say in Hindi). On such night only, god has to come to awaken us, to re-establish the Satya Dharma (true religion) of peace, purity, and universal love, and brotherhood. He comes to uplift the entire humanity and thereby free us all from sorrow. This is remembered in Shrimat Bhagavad Gita in this sloka: Yada Yada hi Dharmasya ... which says: "Whenever the original religion of soul is forgotten and defeated, I incarnate in the world to re-establish dharma, the golden age (heaven), to uplift the goodness and annihilate the evil. I come so in every kalpa (cycle)... " Why do We Keep Awake a ll night? Keeping awake all through the night signifies that we should be alert in our actions, especially in the pres ent time when in the world there is a total night of ignorance and vices. Let us not be under the influence of maya (5 vices) and invite misery and suffering due to our own bad actions. Let only good action take place through us. Let us all STAY AWARE of what we are doing as our karma . Upvaas on Shivratri Fasting (upvaas) on Shivaratri is when we link our intellect with God Shiva and stay in his company. Upavaas (up + vass) means "to stay close". The true Jagaran means to awaken from ignorance and to protect the self from the evil influence of vices such as lust, anger, greed, etc. Let us stay awake in the company of remembrance of the Supreme Father, the Supreme Soul, Shiva. Shiv Linga (Shivling) Shivratri is also the best occasion to understand its spiritual significance. 'Shivling ' symbolizes the light form of God Shiva. God is not a human being, nor does he have any bodily form. God Shiv is a subtle point of divine conscious light, often symbolized by an oval shaped stone and worshipped. Just as we souls, he the supreme soul also is a soul. While here, light signifies 'consciousness' and not the light that comes from a star. This is why he is depicted as jyotirlinga, meaning “the symbol of light”. He is the truth, the benefactor, and the most beautiful one; therefore often called satyam-shivam-sundaram (Shiv is Truth, Benevolent, and beautiful) In Hindi PDF Audio ♪ Maha Shivratri truth -Short Film Shiv Avtaran documentary Shivratri Significance- BK Jayanti Shivratri Significance- Part 2 Shiv and Shankar difference Maha Shivratri Secret Useful Links Shivratri Message PDF Shivratri Special Article Shivratri Article (Hindi) Shri Krishna Birth Revelations from Murli History of BK 7 days course online Shiv is Trim urti The word “Trimurti Shiv Jayanti ” signifies that Shiva, the incorporeal Supreme Father, is the Creator of three deities - Brahma, Vishnu, an d Sha nkar - through whom he carries out his three supreme acts of Creation (of the new world/ Satyug ) through Brahma, Sustenance (of that new world) through Vishnu and Destruction (of the old world/ kaliyug) through Shankar. These are Shiva's three divine children . These deities are in fact a subtle formation of light (Devta) and not a physical form (they are not human beings) Shiv Avta r an Since now we know that Shiv (lovingly called as 'Shiv Baba') has come to play his 3 roles (creator, sustainer, transformer) and which began around 1936, we also then understand that the Golden age (heaven/Satyug) is soon to come in the very front of our eyes. Science will also help in world transformation . After 100 years of Shiv Jayanti, the new world begins. God father is the creator of heaven . It takes 100 years to transform the entire world (human souls and nature). This is the greatest task of all. If we consider all major parts played by human souls, like Ibrahim, Buddha , Christ , etc., they all are messengers of God, they all established their own religions and gave their perspective towards God and taught the art of living. Many great people changed history. Some through the message of peace, some through their wisdom, a nd some thr ough war. But only to some extent. Religions still exist, but also sorrow exists as the world kept falling down (spiritually speaking). No one could uplift the world, even with their great efforts. Tip : Watch video➙ Shi v Baba k a Av taran (Hindi) or GOD speaks to Us (English) The Divine Task of G OD SHIVA God's task of world transformation is subtle to understand. This is a task of the supreme being, whom all religions of the world worship. It is to un ders tand that we all pray to God for help, thus definitely we all have experienced his help in times before. We ask him for happiness and peace, thus he must be the source and giver of peace. So when did the supreme father come and gave us his inheritance, and done all this, so much that the humans still remember him, worship and pray to him? God Shiva is Trimurti. He creates the new world order of golden age through Brahma. He sustains that world through Vishnu and gets destroyed the old world or Iron Age which is filled with irreligiousness and unrighteousness through Shankar. In the context of Maha Shivratri, the night denotes ignorance, the absence of the light of knowledge. It is the darkness due to the existence of all-pervading five vices - lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego. It is a night of extreme irreligiousness. Today peacelessness, unrighteousness suffering wrong and simple acts have become the order of the day. But for how long can this be continued? Who will provide us lasting happiness and true peace? It, therefore, requires the father himself to descend into this world which is passing through the period of an extreme night of ignorance to reestablish a world of religion, righteousness and values. The great news is that He has already descended on earth to perform the most elevated task of world transformation and creation of heaven (Satyug). God's medium for the task of creation of New world is Prajapita Brahma who is remembered as Adam (first human). This is the divine message of this sacred festival of Maha Shivratri. By undeviating remembrance (yaad/yog) with our long lost and now found father (Shiv Baba), we the souls will get free of all sins. This RajYog is the only method of spiritual purification. • How to join Brahma Kumaris – Guidelines

Join us with the highest purpose of human life. Here are Shiv baba's guidelines to become a Brahma Kumari or Kumar (BK). Registration form and surrender Letter for ashram. How to Join Us - Steps, Form and Surrender letter In Hindi About Us Before we explain the procedure of "surrendering to the yagya" (समर्पित), it is important to clarify what "surrender" even means. It does not mean "escape" from life (and its responsibilities) or blind obedience to anyone. What is Surrender? Firstly, understand the true and complete meaning of "surrendering" through the following FOUR points: 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐬: 1● Offering our mind, time, energy, and skills to God’s task 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 : 'Selfless Service'—it is only through 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐚 that our soul is cleansed from impurity and vices. This is the 𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙢𝙖𝙔𝙤𝙜 that God is teaching us now. 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Please read our post: KarmaYog (meditation in work) 2● Living under Shrimat (God’s directions given in the Murlis) 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 : The two pillars of shrimat are: BE HOLY (𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚢 𝚙𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚘𝚞𝚐𝚑𝚝, 𝚠𝚘𝚛𝚍 & 𝚊𝚌𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗) and BE YOGI (𝚛𝚎𝚖𝚎𝚖𝚋𝚎𝚛 𝚂𝚑𝚒𝚟 𝙱𝚊𝚋𝚊 𝚊𝚕𝚘𝚗𝚎). In order to achieve this stage, one must practise "balance" in everyday life... Creating a good balance between 𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 (responsibilities) and 𝘢𝘭𝘰𝘶𝘬𝘪𝘬 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 (purusharth). 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Please read our post on BALANCE: Purusharth & Daily Life . 3● Following a simple, disciplined, celibate (Satvik) way of life 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 : It is truly said that "𝘚𝘱𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 𝘪𝘴 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘷𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘥𝘢𝘺". We live a simple, pure & satvik life—Eat simple and pure vegetarian (home-cooked) food, wear simple light-weight clothes, live a disciplined life (waking up early in the morning, sitting in Baba's yaad, doing our regular day-to-day karma. 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞 : Living a Satvik life greatly influences our spiritual stage. Purity preserves our power and raises the Kundalini energy. 4● Letting go of desires, vices, and addictions (if any) 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 : Letting go of anything that hinders our spiritual growth and progress. Baba's primary shrimat is: "𝚋𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚖𝚎 𝚟𝚒𝚌𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜" (free from the vices arising from body-consciousness). We also understand that "desire" is the root cause of all sorrow. Therefore, we must renunciate every worldly desire and "surrender" to the divine flow of life. 𝐓𝐢𝐩: Also read our post: Surrender & Manifest . The act of "being surrendered" is 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 to love, self-transformation, and service. Guidelines to become a Brahma Kumari or Brahma Kumar Upon Godly permissions, we present you the official guidelines given by the most beloved, the Almighty Supreme Soul Shiv baba (our spiritual father) to take the inheritance (varsa) of heaven ( golden age ) by becoming pure in this last birth and learning the supreme knowledge of RajYog aka Raja Yoga meditation through which one becomes master of the self. Here are the four steps to become a BK or join Brahma Kumaris organisation. Step 1: Take the 7 days course The 7 days Raja Yog course is a foundation and the essence of the entire spiritual knowledge taught and practised at Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University. And this will be considered the first step in becoming a BK student. You can take this course at any nearby BK centre (Rajyoga center) or even while staying at Home (via our Online Course section) What is this Course? Raja Yoga course captures the essence of the entire knowledge shared at Brahma Kumaris. The 7 days course as we say, explains the existence of Soul (Who am I?), the Supreme Soul (God), the World drama & its cycle of 5000 years, knowing the story of the downfall and upliftment of humanity, insight to the universal law of Karma, and at last, you will learn the method and practice of RajYog or Rajyoga meditation, which is a connection with the almighty supreme soul. This course is the foundation of further understanding and thus the first step is essential. Step 2 : Study Murli and vow of Purity When you have cleared the first stage (course), then you will also understand what is murli . It is said that the milk of a lioness only stays in a golden bowl (meaning : Divine knowledge only stays in a pure intellect). So now, one must follow the first advice of God, which is to 'become pure'. In common words - complete celibacy or brahmacharya. Purity is the mother of all virtues. And without such purity (in thoughts, words, actions), one cannot be called a Brahman (BK). For many, purity in thoughts is difficult. But with time following other directions in the murli, the stage of our inner purity also improves. The easy way of bringing purity deeply in our life, is to film that "We all are brothers and sisters, the children of one spiritual father (Supreme soul /ParamAtma) " Now you are ready to taste the eternal nectar. What is Murli? We daily listen to Shiv baba's Gyan Murli. These are the loving words of knowledge and directions by God through his corporeal medium Brahma (those murlis are known as Sakar Murli ). God's murli covers the entire knowledge of creation and the creator, and our own story of 84 births . This is food for the soul. The soul imbibes the food of knowledge and becomes powerful. When we churns this knowledge, it becomes our wisdom. Murli is read at all BK centres in morning and evening classes. You can access murli in pdf , htm and audio format online also. At babamurli.net, madhubanmurli.org and here . Step 3 : Surrender your Intellect Many ask us: How can I join and be one among you? How can I surrender in the Yagya ? So it is important to know that 'surrender' doesn't mean living at a centre. In fact, it is Baba's Shrimat that you should remain pure and do spiritual effort (purusharth) while living at your homes (with your loukik family) ''I will listen to only you, I will walk, eat, sit and sleep only with you (in your remembrance) - this is the promise you children have made to me' ' - Shiv baba (Murli, 1967) Surrender your mind to God. This means, to follow his given advice (shrimat). What is Shrimat? Shrimat is the Murli which we daily study (listen/read). Murli will be divided into 4 subjects (knowledge, yog, dharna and service) out of which, the third subject (धारणा or imbibing the knowledge) is considered as the advice of God i.e.: how one shall inculcate the spiritual values and virtues in practical life and remove the 5 vices (lust, anger, greed, ego, attachment) and other subtle weaknesses. Realise that it is God himself who is speaking the Murli and teaching us children to make us equal to himself. When you realise this, it is a matter of time to surrender your mind to God and listen/follow his elevated directions/advice. This surrender is of intellect (बुद्धि) and not merely staying at a BK centre. Thus you can become a BK while staying with your family; studying this spiritual knowledge and connecting Yog with Shiv Baba. The one who follows the advice (shrimat) given in Murli, is the one whom we call - a surrendered Soul, a BK . This is called as a surrender of the mind. Know about such great souls on our Biography page. Step 4 : Surrender Letter (optional) According to the guidelines given by God in the Murlis, you will be considered a Brahman (BK) when you have followed first 3 given steps. Now if you wish to give your name and other details to us in the Godly record, you can do this by filing the Surrender Letter (send the signed letter to your local centre), or via our online Register as a BK form. New ➙ Join our WhatsApp group or Telegram channel for daily sustenance. Life After Surrendering 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐑𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞: • Wake up very early (around 3:30–4:00 am) • AmritVela meditation (Yog) • Murli class (6 or 7 am) • Service: 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘤𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘤𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘤𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘳𝘨𝘢𝘯𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 • Evening meditation (7 pm) • Early sleep (by or before 10 pm) THE BENEFITS The greatest benefit of living a surrendered, pure, yogi life is—𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 and 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡. Our inner experience: • Strong sense of purpose • Emotional simplicity • Deep companionship with God • Reduced anxiety about money, future, identity • A feeling of being “used” for something larger You will notice many surrendered Yogi souls radiate peace and steadiness. ➤ 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗜 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿? It is very important to ask yourself the question: "is this suitable for me?" Surrender suits you if: • Your joy comes from 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞, not recognition • You are emotionally 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 • You are not jus trying to 'escape' pain, failure, or confusion • You genuinely feel 𝐝𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐆𝐨𝐝 more than to outcomes Surrender letter Registration Form

Is either a cry or a thought when faced with the mountain sunset, a spectacular view or a well formed man or woman. But where is the beauty, where is the appreciation of beauty, where is the ability to discern beauty? It is within our own consciousness. For the essence of who and what we are is beauty itself. The essence of beauty is not found in the body, a face or a mountain - they only stir the essence of beauty within our own spirit. And that beauty is not only something we taste within ourselves, but it emerges in our character as virtue, and in our life as care. For what is virtue, but love in action. The next time you say, "That's beautiful!" know that you speak of yourself, and it is you who are beautiful. Always were, always will be.
