Stand Back, Observe & Steer : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2024-10-06 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ Stand Back, Observe & Steer Our lives are filled with different types of situations, which arise from time to time. We often find ourselves getting influenced by situations negatively and our inner power is reduced. Stand Back, Observe and Steer is a simple technique of spirituality with the help of which we can experience positivity in a negative situation and instead of getting influenced, we can influence the negative situation with our positivity and change it. It is a technique of detachment in which we stand back from the situation instead of getting attached to it, observe our thoughts closely, and then steer the thoughts of our mind or change them and take them in a positive direction, the way a plane or ship is steered when it sees an obstacle in front of it. How do we practice this technique? Here are 5 steps – 1● Fill your mind with positive thoughts in the morning by reading or listening to something positive. The more our mind is filled with positivity, the more strength we will have to become detached and leave the situation with our mind. Also, we will be able to steer our thoughts and experience peace and contentment. 2● Practice mind traffic control for one minute every hour. In that one minute, leave whatever you are doing and experience yourself as a peaceful, loveful, and powerful soul. 3● Practice affirmations the entire day for about 10-15 times. An affirmation is a positive thought that we repeat and experience again and again. This makes our mind stable and focused and it does not get influenced by any situation or person easily. 4● Make a Digital Detox plan for the day. The entire day, our minds are flooded with information from our mobiles, computers, televisions, and other electronic devices. Reduce the intake of negative information and negative news from these devices. 5● Keep God’s company throughout the day. By letting go of our burdens and giving them to God, we look at situations as detached observers and do not get entangled in them. Suggested ➔ Satyug (New World) images Quote of the day "True service is always free from expectations" Points to think about : When we see others in need, it is natural for us to help them. At that moment we do not expect anything in return from them. When we need help or support, we expect help from those we have helped. When they don't offer help in return, we may feel hurt or disappointed. Procedure : When I help others, I need to remind myself that I should not expect anything in return. Any help I give will be returned to me in due course. The seeds that I have sown will not be wasted, but in due time they will bear fruit. Previous Next day

- Genius: Hard Work or Talent? | Brahma Kumaris Messages
What Makes A Genius: Hard Work or Talent? : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2023-06-12 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ What Makes A Genius: Hard Work or Talent? Every now and then we come across creative or scholarly abilities in certain children whom we acknowledge as child geniuses. They are geniuses at one skill or another. A 4-year old child skilfully plays long notes on the piano, a 7-year old writes complex software code while another recites shlokas from the scriptures at age 5. When and from whom did they learn these skills, especially when nobody in their family is inclined or trained in the same. Also, famous artists, musicians, engineers, sportsmen often display their talent at a very young age and most of them do not inherit it from their parents or family. ➥ Spiritual wisdom teaches us that every action done by a soul after taking a physical body is registered in the soul as a sanskar or habit. Our sanskars are a sum total of our nature, talents and inclinations. These sanskars are then carried into the next births and are brought into action in the new births. Applying this understanding, the talent in a genius was learned, nurtured and mastered in his or her previous birth. Being registered on the soul, the talent is carried forward. ➥ The soul replays or reproduces the talent in this birth, in some cases in childhood itself. In short, genius is an experience. We think it is a gift or talent but it is a fruit of deep and long experience over many births. Some of us are older souls than others because we have been on the world stage for a longer duration and hence covered a journey of more number of births. Such souls carry forward experiences that are far deeper and longer than others. This understanding helps parents to encourage inherent talent in children instead of expecting them to be the way they want them to be. Suggested ➔ "Read PDF books" Quote of the day "To bring newness into actions means to contribute for the betterment of the self and others" Expression : There is a constant desire to do something better that makes a contribution to oneself and to others too. So the one who thinks of newness can bring about such a contribution. There will not be something different that can be done. But the same thing can be done in such a way that there is benefit visible. Experience : When I am able to bring newness in the way I do things, I am able to experience constant progress . There will also be the satisfaction of bringing about newness and creativity even in ordinary actions. Along with this will also be the satisfaction of making a contribution in every action of mine. Time Management (Part 3) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2024-02-09 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ Time Management (Part 3) Very often, apart from creating the right type of thoughts, which help in proper time management, what is required is a good balance. I need to check myself whether my time given to different actions is being distributed properly. These actions could be your work, your hobbies, your personal life, your health, your relationships, and all other areas of your life. Very often we define success wrongly for ourselves and run after it with the wrong beliefs acquired over a long time. ➤As a result, our time sometimes gets utilized in the wrong way. So, I need to check aspects like which relationships of mine are the most important ones. I need to also check how much importance I give to my work and to what extent I give it time. Also, is the balance between my personal and professional life okay? I analyze all this, keeping in mind the correct definition of success, which is not only material success but a content mind and heart. Contentment is inner success and more important than material success. Once I understand my priorities correctly, my time starts flowing in the right direction, in the right manner. ➤I need to also check what I may gain or lose in every action of mine in the form of my internal mind’s treasures like peace, love, and joy. Suppose I am running after my work ambitions in search of success, but am I neglecting my relationships, my health, or my peace of mind in the process? ➤Also, some relationships may be giving me temporary happiness but are they taking me away from my relationship with God? After all, if my relationship with God is strong, all my other relationships will be successful. The answers to all these and many such similar questions led me to a good time distribution in my life, also called time management. Suggested ➔ How to Detox the Mind? Quote of the day "Shifting the Consciousness to Positive" Instead of being conscious of the disease of the body, all I need to do is to maintain the consciousness of being powerful internally. Then I would not be afraid of the disease of the body but will have the courage to deal with it. Previous Next day

- Spiritual Cooking & Eating (P2) | Brahma Kumaris Messages
The Spiritual Way Of Cooking & Eating (Part 2) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2024-10-22 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ The Spiritual Way Of Cooking & Eating (Part 2) When cooking a meal, switch on the role of a beautiful creator of pure energy filled food, which is the divine sustenance for the mind and body. Switch off the role of a hard-working mother, which makes cooking food a boring and difficult task to be done everyday. Create the following affirmation in your mind while cooking the food and bring it into practice – I love making a meal using the creations of nature, the ingredients that are given to me by the elements of nature. With my beautiful inner state of mind and by being connected with the Supreme Being of pure spiritual energy or God, I shall pass on this pure energy to the food I am cooking. By doing this, all those who eat the food, will be benefitted spiritually and physically. ➤So cooking a meal is respecting and loving these elements to the fullest. Also, although physical nature’s elements are eternal, it is important to know that when nature loses its purity, it’s God who purifies it and returns it to its original state. That is why God is incorrectly called the creator of nature, which he is not exactly, although he is a transformer of nature from impure to pure. ➤So the nature’s elements also, when in their purest state, give pure energy to the soul and the physical body. But, today as we all know, these elements have lost their purity on a physical level. This is because of causes like vehicle pollution, emission of poisonous gases from factories, deforestation, depletion of the ozone layer, global warming, etc. This is also because of the use of improper materials to grow vegetables and fruits that are harmful to the physical body. ➤The elements have also deteriorated on a subtle energy level, the spiritual energy level. This is because of the impure and peaceless emotions in the minds of human beings, which travel to the elements and make them impure and full of negative spiritual energy. So it’s important to purify your meal ingredients before their consumption. (Continues tomorrow...) Suggested ➔ Video "Lost & Found: Our Story" Quote of the day "True responsibility brings inner Lightness and Happiness" Points to think about : When we take on responsibility for something or someone, it can feel heavy. When responsibility overwhelms us, we feel trapped like a caged bird. We long to escape and spread our wings. When we feel this way, we don't fulfill our responsibilities to the best of our ability. Procedure : Merely taking care of duties is not real responsibility; Responsibility means being involved in a large amount of work and doing everything with purpose in mind. When I think about my responsibilities with this attitude, I find things happen more easily and I am helped every step of the way. I am able to multitask with ease and enjoy everything I do. - 5 Steps Of Self Respect (part 1) | Brahma Kumaris Messages
5 Positive Steps Of Self Respect (Part 1) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2023-05-16 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ 5 Positive Steps Of Self Respect (Part 1) One of the most important energies for success in any situation and in any sphere of life is a very strong and positive mental state. Self-respect is the first step to positivity. Self-realization leads to self-respect. We often play our different roles in society in a physical realization – the realization of the physical body, physical role, relationships, wealth, education and job. Whereas we consider these realizations as natural, but many times because of the changeable nature of these spheres and aspects of life, we are lacking in self-respect and as a result in mental strength. Let us in this message; take a look at different points of self-respect based on a spiritual self-realization which make us internally strong. 1 ● 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝗔 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹, 𝗠𝘆 𝗦𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗜𝘀 𝗚𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗱 ➔ Every morning, create the first point of self-respect that in every sphere of life your victory or success is guaranteed. Revisit this point of self-respect many times in the day. It will inject positivity in your every thought, word and action and that positivity will flow in your role. It will also benefit you in different ways in improving your health and earning wealth and also achieving success in every sphere of life. The more you feel this positive thought in your inner sub-conscious mind, the lighter and happier you will feel. Also, this inner strength will show in better inter-personal relationships and beautiful results in different pursuits of life. A positive feeling of success in your mind will guarantee success in every action and life will become a journey of relaxation, where anything goes wrong very rarely and even if it does, it corrects itself in a very short period of time. (To be continued tomorrow …) Suggested ➔ Swaman Abhyas (Affirmations) Quote of the day "The best way to progress is to gain good wishes and blessings from others" Expression : For the one who earns the blessings of others at every step, there is easy success. There is positivity and speciality revealed in every action and benefit for the self and others . Even the most difficult circumstances, don't deter such a person, but he has the power and the courage to move on. So there is constant progress, whatever the situations may be. Experience : When I am able to take good wishes from those around me, I am able to experience being obstacle-free. I am able to move forward with ease under all circumstances. Even in the most difficult situations, I am able to take the benefit from those around me, for others are willing to provide support at the right time, because my good deeds (karma) have earned me their good wishes and blessings . - Be Emotional or Not (P1) | Brahma Kumaris Messages
Should We Be Emotional or Not? (Part 1) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2025-03-07 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ Should We Be Emotional or Not? (Part 1) Living a life full of twists and turns and different scenes, it is very easy to become emotionally attached to scenes happening around you and sometimes become disheartened or sorrowful and sometimes even emotionally joyful. Both are normal emotions. Yes, we thought so! What is wrong with experiencing pain when we watch an accident on the road and what is wrong with becoming emotional and crying, when we watch a moving emotion-filled movie? How can you take away these two experiences from life? The world told us they were correct. ➤When we grew up, we often cried, sometimes in sorrow and many times in joy. Did you go to your best friend’s birthday and become excessively emotional and when your younger brother or sister went down with a fever, you sometimes cried seeing his or her pain? Our parents taught us this is what life is all about – mixed shades of emotional joy and emotional sorrow make up the painting of life. In fact, we grew up seeing them doing that in their worldly duties and we thought it was correct. Now! Wait a moment! Do I like sitting on this emotional roller-coaster so regularly and so much? How can I free myself? ➤We all look at life’s scenes with an attitude of receiving or taking something from life. We rarely think of giving to life’s scenes. Take the example of the sun in nature. The quality of the sun is giving, it never seeks to receive or take. And it is a powerful force of nature. Let’s emerge this virtue in ourselves. That will make us emotionally powerful inside and I will be lighter, happier, and more contented in life’s different situations. ➤So from today look to give to life’s different scenes and fill them with the primary qualities of life – peace, love, and joy. On the other hand, if we are trying to fill ourselves with these qualities by taking them from people and situations, we will become emotionally weak. (Continues tomorrow...) Suggested ➔ Read our "PDF books" Quote of the day "Listening carefully means building harmonious relationships" Thought : Taking the time to listen and understand what others have to say helps us connect with them better. It is important that we pay attention to what is inside them, not just their appearance. This helps us understand their needs and provides an environment where they can grow. Process : When I am willing to accept other people's opinions, I am able to build harmonious relationships. I don't expect them to be like me, but I understand that we are all unique individuals with something special to offer, and I respect them for who they are. By getting to know them and celebrating their differences, all my relationships grow stronger. Previous Next day
- Diwali New Year (full) | Brahma Kumaris Messages
Diwali New Year (full) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2025-10-22 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ Diwali New Year (full) The Hindu New Year, celebrated the day after Diwali, marks not just the turning of a calendar page but the renewal of the soul’s ledger. Known by different names across India—Vikram Samvat in North India, Bestu Varas in Gujarat, and Bali Pratipada in Maharashtra—it heralds a dawn of hope, gratitude, and prosperity. As the lamps of Diwali fade, the first light of the New Year rises, symbolizing clarity after celebration, introspection after illumination. The air still smells of incense and sweets, but now there’s a quiet sacredness—an invitation to begin again with purity of thought and strength of purpose. ➤For merchants and traders, this day holds special significance—it is the time to open new account books or “chopda pujan,” invoking Goddess Lakshmi for abundance and balance in all endeavors. Yet, beyond the rituals, the essence of the festival lies in spiritual accounting: reflecting on one’s karma, debts, and duties before embarking on another cycle of creation. Families exchange sweets and good wishes, not merely as gestures of festivity, but as reminders that harmony in relationships is the true wealth to be carried into the new year. ➤Philosophically, the Hindu New Year represents the eternal rhythm of renewal—from darkness to light, from ignorance to awareness. Just as Diwali celebrates the victory of good over evil, the following day invites the heart to sustain that victory through righteous living and mindful joy. It whispers an ancient promise: that every end carries a beginning, and every spark of light can birth a new world—if only one tends it with faith, love, and wisdom. Suggested ➔ Read our "Diwali" article Quote of the day "The true New Year begins not on the calendar, but in the heart." This quote reminds us that the essence of the Hindu New Year lies beyond rituals and fireworks—it is a spiritual renewal. While Diwali illuminates the world around us, the day after calls us to awaken the inner light of awareness, compassion, and self-mastery. The real beginning of the year is not measured by dates, but by the clarity of one’s intentions and the purity of one’s heart. When we choose to live with gratitude and goodness, each dawn becomes a New Year’s day. Previous Next day

5 Steps for Becoming Angel (Part 1) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2024-03-01 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ 5 Steps for Becoming Angel (Part 1) A very important aspect of our lives is giving respect to everyone we meet in the day and showering praise on each one as they interact with us. People often talk to us and everyone is looking for and expecting love-filled behaviour from us. So, to serve others with my nature and good wishes radiating from my inner positivity, I need to be full of the treasures of all the qualities that exist in human nature. There should not be a single positive nature characteristic or virtue that I should be lacking. When we become full of all qualities, people will experience perfection from us and get inspired to become perfect themselves. Sometimes a single negative word, action or even facial expression can distance people from us and also make them inclined towards negativity. In this message, we look at different practical methods to become a perfect human being or angel, who satisfies everyone at every step and becomes an example for others to follow: 1 ● 𝗖𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗜 𝗔𝗺 𝗔 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗹 𝗙𝗲𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 ➤ The first and foremost step towards becoming perfect is seeing oneself as a spiritual being and not a human form only. This is because it is the soul which performs all actions. Remember that it is my responsible for everything I do, through soul consciousness, will make me positive and powerful and always willing to bring positive changes in myself. ➤The soul is an energy with immense potential to bring about any thought and personality change through the power of self-wisdom and the power of determination. So, right from the time you wake up every morning and throughout the day, keep the I am a soul feeling in your mind, and make actions beautiful and perfect. (Continues tomorrow...) Suggested ➔ See "Angel Images" Quote of the day "Joy Of Doing What We Love" When there is the happiness and joy of doing something, one can go on putting in effort even in the most difficult circumstances. For having done everything with happiness, there will be the inner quality revealed in every task. The happiness within will spread around to others too. Previous Next day
- Living With Positivity (Part 1) | Brahma Kumaris Messages
Living with Positive Thoughts (Part 1) : Daily Thoughts & Awakening Messages for your spiritual upliftment by Brahma Kumaris Sustenance team. ⇦Messages 2023-08-25 SHARE⇗ ⇦ ⇨ Living with Positive Thoughts (Part 1) Living in a world of high speed and actions in our everyday lives, we need to spend a few minutes everyday looking at how much time did we spend in the day in giving and spreading the fragrance of our specialties and loving each one whom we meet, with a big heart. Always see and check whether each action of yours is dedicated to the benefit of others and not only for benefiting the self. We all know and realize that the day to day routine includes work tasks of different types but life is also about giving and receiving from others all that’s beautiful in life like peace, love and happiness. ➤It’s fine to be over involved with work but even in that work there are some people who are more in touch with their inner goodness. Some will make it a point to share good things with others in the form of good words while talking to them and good gestures while interacting with them. Some people will make it a point to share with others, something good over email or through any other social media before starting their daily routine at office or even the regular work at home if they are not working. ➥So, life isn’t all about working hard for a living but living a value based life and spreading the fragrance of values to others. Values are not to be kept within you but shared with others and distributed with a big heart. There are some people who will put up some good thoughts and spiritual words everyday in their homes or at some place in their office where everyone can read them, take inspiration from them, bring them into practice and also inspire others with them. This is called positive thought based living and not just plain living which many people in the world indulge in. ➤Live life to the fullest and enjoy it but not at the cost of giving up values. Let every person whom you come in contact with, feel you are different not only in terms of personality and skills but also in terms of your basic nature and the virtues or qualities you possess. Then the world will become a beautiful place to live in and we will be like one big family closely knit together in a bond of pure love and happiness. (To be continued tomorrow...) Suggested ➔ Visit "Daily Inspiration" Quote of the day "To be a judge of the self means to be free from judging others" Expression : The one who becomes the judge of the self and not that of others, is free from criticising others unnecessarily. Such a person also does not plead his own case by giving excuses and proving himself right. So he is able to bring about a positive change in himself and others are able to take inspiration from the change that he brings in his own life. Experience : When I am free from giving excuses and reasons for things going wrong, specially to myself, I am able to experience progress in my life. For everything that happens, instead of blaming others I am able to take new learnings and use it for my own self-progress . I am able to remain light because I have no expectations from others, but am able to bring about a change in them through my actions. Previous Next day
