Maya: The Play & the Purpose

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙡𝙖𝙮
Imagine you're watching a movie and you get so "caught up" in the story that you forget you're just sitting in a theater. Maya is like that movie—it is the way our world appears to us, making us think that what we see with our eyes is all there is. We get wrapped up in chasing 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘦𝘺, 𝘧𝘢𝘮𝘦, 𝘳𝘦𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴𝘩𝘪𝘱𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘢𝘭 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴, believing these will make us truly happy. But just like the movie characters aren't real, these things we chase are "temporary" and can't give us lasting peace. Maya makes us forget that 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 having a human experience, not just bodies trying to survive and collect stuff. Maya is like "a play" where 𝚛𝚘𝚕𝚎𝚜, 𝚌𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚞𝚖𝚎𝚜, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚌𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚜 keep changing.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙪𝙧𝙥𝙤𝙨𝙚
The beautiful thing is that we don't have to be trapped by this illusion forever. When we start doing our daily work—whether it's our job, helping family, or any responsibility—𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝 to what we'll get in return, something magical happens. We begin to see through the trick. It is 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐮𝐩 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐚 𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐦 and realizing it was just a dream. We can still play our parts as students, parents, workers, or friends, but we remember that 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐠𝐞𝐫 than these roles. This understanding brings real freedom and happiness that doesn't depend on whether things go our way or not.
