Clearing a Competive Exam in India

In India, competitive exams are more than just academic assessments—they are gateways to prestigious careers, esteemed institutions, and transformative opportunities. From the UPSC exams that shape future civil servants to the fiercely contested engineering and medical entrance tests like JEE and NEET, these examinations demand not only intellectual rigor but also strategic preparation, emotional resilience, and adaptability.

With millions of aspirants vying for a limited number of seats each year, the journey to success is often fraught with challenges, including intense competition, societal pressure, and the need to balance speed with accuracy. Yet, clearing these exams is achievable with a disciplined approach, tailored study plans, and a mindset of continuous improvement. This post is a response we gave to a Charted Accounting (CA) student.

(The following was our response to a sister who was struggling to clear her CA 'foundational' year exams & going through anxiety. We have given general insight, practical suggestions & 4 helpful links for further support)

🌴So you are struggling to complete a course that you like to study & started by choice. As your parents are very supportive, you want to suceed at your choice of course, and make them proud.

🍁Before we go ahead, there is a small contradiction that you should notice >> if you truly love the subject, you cannot fail it. And if you do not love it, we would surely advise you to 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 and take the subjects that you love to study.

When you love to learn something, 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 & 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐠𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬. There is no more struggle, since you LOVE and ENJOY what you are learning... You no longer need to rely on results, as the PROCESS of learning becomes the 'source' of your JOY.

And more importantly—𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐝𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐬. Dont try to forcefully love what you have to do... There is nothing that you HAVE TO do in life... You are not here to fulfil obligations, but 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.

"𝙄𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙚𝙭𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙞𝙣𝙣𝙚𝙧 𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙩𝙝, 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙝𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨𝙨, 𝙛𝙪𝙡𝙛𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 & 𝙨𝙪𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨"

🌳𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫: "No one has ever succeeded in doing something that they did not enjoy"All meaningful & wonderful things have been accomplished by those 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐢𝐭 & 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬... Even when they faced obstacles & multiple failures, they kept moving... because they enjoyed the process.

👉👉So, find out what makes your heart beat... what takes your breath away... what 'excites' & 'motivates' you the most... Is it teaching, writing, being a doctor, or what.

Dont forget👉𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.. you are still in the 'foundation' year, and can easily change the course.
