How can I Join Brahma Kumaris?

The following are our "3 steps to join" as per the directions given by Shiv Baba in Sakar and Avyakt Murlis. To view the most updated information, please visit our official page: How to Join Us.
Step 1: Take RajYoga course
The 7 day Raja Yog course is a foundation and the essence of entire spiritual knowledge taught and practised at Brahma Kumaris Spiritual University. And this will be considered as the first step in becoming a BK student. You can take this course at any nearby BK centre (Rajyoga center) or even while staying at Home (via our Online Course section)
In the introductory 7 days course, the basic points of God-given Spiritual knowledge will be explained -
Day 1: Soul (me)
Day 2: the Supreme soul (God, our father)
Day 3: Three worlds that exist
Day 4: World drama cycle
Day 5: Story of 84 births of human souls
Day 6: Law of Karma
Day 7: Raja Yog meditation & its practice
Step 2: Study Murli and vow of Purity
When you have cleared the first stage (course), then you will also understand what is murli.
It is said that the milk of a lioness only stays in a golden bowl (meaning: Divine knowledge only stays in a pure intellect). So now, one must follow the first advice of God, which is to 'become pure'. In common words - complete celibacy or brahmacharya. Purity is the mother of all virtues. And without such purity (in thoughts, words, actions), one cannot be called a Brahman (a BK). For many, purity in thoughts is difficult. But with time following other directions in the murli, the stage of our inner purity also improves and gradually it becomes a natural way of living.
The easy way of bringing purity deeply into our lives, is to remember that "We all souls are brothers (or brothers and sisters), the children of one spiritual father (Supreme soul /ParamAtma)"
Now you are ready to taste the eternal nectar.
What is Murli?
We daily listen to Shiv baba's Gyan Murli. These are the loving words of knowledge and directions by God through his corporeal medium Brahma (those murlis are known as Sakar Murli). God's murli covers the entire knowledge of creation and the creator, and our own story of 84 births. This is food for the soul. The soul imbibes the food of knowledge and becomes powerful. Step 3: Surrender your Intellect
Many ask us: How can I join and be one among you? How can I surrender in the Yagya?
So it is important to know that 'surrender' doesn't mean to live at a centre. In fact it is Baba's Shrimat that you should remain pure and do spiritual effort (purusharth) while living at your homes (with your loukik family)
''I will listen only you, I will walk, eat, sit and sleep only with you (in your remembrance) - this is the promise you children have made to me'' - Shiv baba (Murli, 1967)
To surrender your mind to God means, to follow his given advice (shrimat).
What is Shrimat?
Shrimat is directions of God to us children, as given in the Murli which we daily study (listen/read). Murli will be divided into 4 subjects (knowledge, yog, dharna and service) out of which, the third subject (dharna) is considered as the advice of God i.e.: how one shall inculcate the spiritual values and virtues in practical life and remove the 5 vices (lust, anger, greed, ego, attachment) and other subtle weaknesses.
Realise that it is God himself who is speaking the Murli and teaching us children to make us equal to himself. When you realise this, it is a matter of time to surrender your mind to God and listen/follow his elevated directions/advice.
The one who follows the advice (shrimat) given in Murli, is the one whom we call - a surrendered Soul, a BK. This is called as a surrender of the mind.

How to take the Course?
There are 2 ways to take the free 7 days RajYoga course:
1. Via your nearby BK RajYog centre
Visit your nearby local centre and ask the sisters to give you the introduction of this. They will also guide you ahead. The pure meditative atmosphere of RajYog centre will uplift your spiritual stage and you will experience being a practical form of peace, purity and love.
2. Via our 'online' 7 days course system
For those who live very far from a BK centre or those who cannot or do not wish to visit a centre for the course, we have our online system for 7 days course:
