Many of us have had a bitter childhood memory which still pulls us back to those times or bites our conscience, or bitters our relationship with the known family. So what is right to do? To confess or confront the past? or to forgive, forget, and start a new journey? Ofcourse, our advise here is 'specific-given' to a sister who wrote to us. While in general, we do believe and know that everyone is unique and has a unique story, and thus they must judge their current situation and decide accordingly, what is best to do.

Someone in my family did something very wrong years back but at that time I was a child & couldn't tell anyone as I was scared. Now I realise how wrong the person did & is living as if he did nothing. Now I want to tell the truth , even though I don't have any proof. But I am scared people might not believe me & more than anything it will hurt everyone in the family. But speaking the truth is the right thing to do.
I have 2 choices:
1) Tell the truth to everyone, which may hurt family.
2) To not say anything & live like nothing happened because it is too late to speak.
Now I can't decide which one is the right decision to take. Both of them are so difficult: To remain silent feels like I am doing something wrong, AND to speak the truth feels like I'll be hurting people. What should I do?
Our Response + Guidance
Follow this guidance STEP by STEP in your mind first, and then outside. Read with 'Attention' and then follow your inner feelings.1. To clean your heart and memory is first priority. So take a plain sheet of paper and write down whatever you remember happened in your childhood. This letter can be subjected to God. Put all your memories to God, as if you are giving all your burden away...2. Now go to one of your parents. Mother or father- you choose. Select a time when they are not busy and are ready to listen to you. Calmly tell them everything. Answer their questions which they will ask. Open your heart.3. Ask them not to have any relationship with that person (whose complaint you just told). But yet dont spread this news to anyone else. Keep it upto you and your parents only.4. Telling your parents is important so that they know the TRUTH about their child. BUT DO NOT spread this as a news. Our aim is to forget the past incident, and that to happen, one must not curse any soul...★Forgiving is another thing"...
