World Yoga Day (21 June)

Every year on 21st June, the United Nations–designated International Day of Yoga brings people together to celebrate the ancient practice of uniting body, mind, and spirit. For the Brahma Kumaris organisation, this day is a powerful reminder that true yoga goes beyond physical postures—it is the art of inner stillness and self-awareness. Through their Raja Yoga meditation, Brahma Kumaris practitioners focus on cultivating a deep connection with the self and the divine, experiencing yoga as a living, transformative science of consciousness.

On World Yoga Day, Brahma Kumaris centres worldwide offer special guided sessions that blend gentle stretches with silent meditation, encouraging participants to draw on inner strength and peace. By emphasizing the importance of purity of thought, positive attitudes, and spiritual values, Brahma Kumaris highlights how yoga can help people cope with daily stress, foster harmony in relationships, and contribute to a more compassionate world. Whether you’re new to meditation or a seasoned practitioner, 21st June is an invitation to explore yoga’s deeper dimensions and nurture your highest potential.

Message for Today

"The more I overcome my weaknesses, the more benefit there is for myself and for others"

"The more I overcome my weaknesses, the more benefit there is for myself and for others"

Thought:

The common result is to react through our weaknesses in situations that threaten us. The problem with that result is that every time we use our weaknesses, they become stronger and are imprinted on our character.

Process:

I need to remember that I can only bring good to others and to myself when I free myself from my weaknesses. This thought will help me to overcome my shortcomings and keep trying.
