Maha Shivratri

Maha Shivratri literally means "the great night of Shiva". Shivratri holds profound spiritual significance as a night dedicated to Lord Shiva—the symbol of 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 & 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬. Spiritually, it represents the victory of "knowledge (awareness)" over ignorance and the turning inward from outer distractions to the silent source within.
This sacred night also symbolizes the union of 𝙎𝙝𝙞𝙫𝙖 (𝚙𝚞𝚛𝚎 𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚜𝚌𝚒𝚘𝚞𝚜𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜) and 𝙎𝙝𝙖𝙠𝙩𝙞 (𝚍𝚒𝚟𝚒𝚗𝚎 𝚎𝚗𝚎𝚛𝚐𝚢). On a deeper level, Shivratri points to Shiva as the destroyer of illusions and the force that clears the old to make way for NEWNESS and spiritual growth. On this night, we stay awake in "jagran" to cultivate 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞, 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲, and heightened 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬.
