Diwali New Year

The Hindu New Year, celebrated the day after Diwali, marks the dawn of new beginnings and spiritual renewal. Known by various names across India—such as Govardhan Puja, Vikram Samvat New Year, or Bestu Varas in Gujarat—it signifies the start of the Vikram Samvat calendar. This day is filled with gratitude, prayers, and the lighting of lamps to invite prosperity and harmony. As the smoke of Diwali fades, the New Year rises like a golden sun—symbolizing hope, dharma, and the triumph of light over the lingering shadows of the past.
