Is God Omnipresent?

The question of whether God is omnipresent has intrigued spiritual seekers throughout history, prompting reflection on the nature of divine existence and its relationship to the material world. Many traditions hold that God pervades every aspect of reality, existing in every place and moment, while others see the divine presence in a distinct way. Regardless of the specific belief system, contemplating Godโ€™s omnipresence invites us to examine our own connection to the sacred, the universe, and each other.

The following was written in response to a query we received on our Samadhanย WhatsApp group in Dec 2024.

The word "omnipresent" is a religion-made word that suggests that "god lives in everything & in everyone" >> which is not precise and 'limits' what god really is.

โญGod is the ๐ž๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ ๐ฒ & ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ๐œ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ฅ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ž itself. Yet, god is its '๐ฌ๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐œ๐ž' too >> this "dual nature" can be perfectly explained with the example of "ocean".

โœจUnderstand ๐จ๐œ๐ž๐š๐ง as 'god' and the ๐ซ๐š๐ข๐ง as all the souls (tiny drops of water emerged from the ocean)

๐ŸŒˆAre those drops separate from the ocean? In one way, you may see them as separate... but ultimately, they are a "part" of that ocean... it is the ๐ฌ๐š๐ฆ๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ that makes the rain and fills the ocean.

๐Ÿ’งAnd then, the same water evoporates and make clouds... the ๐œ๐ฒ๐œ๐ฅ๐ž goes on... isn't it beautiful!

๐Ÿ‘‰So shall we say that the ocean is "omnipresent" or shall we say that ๐š๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐ฐ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ซ ๐ก๐š๐ฌ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ž ๐Ÿ๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐จ๐œ๐ž๐š๐ง. All of us are "a part of god"... Just as those clouds... We came from it, and WE ARE IT.

"A small part of the ocean separates itself from the rest of it, and become 'clouds'... the same cloud falls on the ocean as 'rain' and merges again"

WHY IS IT LIKE THIS? The explanation is profound and deep... and we have touched this in some of my responses time and time again.

๐ŸŒณWe have talked about the "process of discovery" and the truth of "relativity" >> we cannot experience 'hot' without the knowledge of 'cold', ๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐ก๐ญ without the knowledge of 'darkness' and in daily life, say ๐ฃ๐จ๐ฒ without the knowledge of 'sorrow'

๐ŸŽThis world is based on this "duality"... Philosphers and sages has called it Maya (illusion). But indeed it is a mixture of TRUTH and MAYA.

๐Ÿ‘‰In the most generic sense, we cannot experience TRUTH (WHO WE ARE) without knowing and experiencing MAYA (WHO WE ARE NOT)
